Hunter Horvath, has owned five aircraft; a Citabria 7KCAB, a Super Decathlon, a Cessna 180 on Aerocet floats, a Found Bush Hawk on Aerocet Amphibs and currently an American Champion Scout on Alaskan Bushwheels. His commercial operation experience includes aerial pipeline patrol in Western Washington and Oregon with low-level waiver in the Decathlon, Part 135 air taxi in Southeast Alaska with the Cessna 180 and Found Bush Hawk, and Alaska fishing lodge and Civil Air Patrol flying in DHC-2 Beavers. Moving to North Idaho included Part 135 work with the Bush Hawk and present back-country flying in Idaho and Montana with the American Champion Scout. Experience includes over 4,600 total hours with over 1500 Alaska time, 1500 tailwheel and 800 hours flight instruction.
Randy McLain has owned a 1941 Waco UPF-7 and a Cessna 172. He has been a CFII for nine years and has been teaching in Sandpoint for over 3 years. He has flight experience in 34 different aircraft and teaching experience in 19 aircraft. Randy owned a sightseeing business in Reno and Boulder City, NV, flying his UPF-7 and a T-6/SNJ doing sightseeing, instruction and aerobatics. He also managed a flight school in Reno, NV and has Part 135 charter experience. Randy specializes in tailwheel and classic aircraft instruction, mountain flying and Technically Advanced Aircraft. He has been to the Cessna Factory Authorized Instructor Program and has extensive experience with the Garmin G1000, 530, 430 and the latest Garmin products as well as iPad and iPhone apps. He is also a Check Pilot Examiner for the Idaho Civil Air Patrol. Randy has over 2300 hours total time and over 1100 hours as flight instructor.
